Varanasi part 3 - Sri Prahlad Ghat

we stayed 14 days in this city and had a lot of experience to make. Finally i have found a very good priest with who i could discuss few interesting points on Varanasi, and i have visited some of the very unknown but interesting places of Narasimha worship here. One of the most famous places of Narasimha Worship is the Sri Prahlad Ghat, a bit outside of Varanasi, but very cool and mystic to feel close to Lord Narasimha. Here Sri Prahlad did worship Lord Narasimha on the side of the Ganges with Ganges water, and that spot marks even up today. On the ghat there is on old Deity of Sri Prahlad (see picture) made from granite, and it seems it was installed in one temple what is no more. A bit further there is a very ancient temple of Lord Narasimha as well, but also he is no dismantled and the locals say it will be restored soon (who knows).
But in varanasi are more places of worship of Lord Narasimha, like on the Kedarnatha Ghat (Ugra Narasimha), Asi Ghat (Lakshmi Narasimha) and on the Manikarnika Ghat. One Sri Vaishnava Mutt near the Prahlad Ghat has also a very nice place were Lord Narasimha is worshipped. You have to ask the locals to guide you there, as it is a bit out of reach. The priests are nice there, give you prasad and tirtha(holy water) as well.

We went by boat to this ghat (from dasamedhaghat ca. 40 min towards the big bridge) and took our bath there... yes you heard right - we did bathing....

Jaya Jaya Narasimha!
